Making contact
Some say that when you wish something the entire universe conspires. With the thought of going with the Cora people in mind I go to a coffee shop, once I´m there I find my friend Meche, the owner of the place and talk with her about that. “Oh, in the other store works a Cora guy. Go and ask him”, she said. I am astonished with the result of that unexpected encounter. I go to the other shop and it turns out that the guy was not Cora, but Huichol, but he has a classmate at University that is Cora. I give him my telephone number, after two days my telephone rings. “Hi I´m Marco, I´m Cora, and I was told that you are interested on going to our Holy Week in Jesús María.” That is how in less than 4 days, I find myself driving to the Sierra Madre Occidental along with my sister Rocío, Marco and Leovi, the Cora guys that study at the University of Nayarit and their father runs cabins, thanks to an Indigenous Development Center Program.
